AXA & MOTOGO launch new typhoon parametric and cross-boundary travel insurance
AXA Hong Kong and Macau and MOTOGO have partnered to launch two new insurance solutions, typhoon parametric and cross-boundary travel.
These two innovative insurance solutions will be provided at no cost to eligible MOTOGO members under Dah Chong Hong Motors.
The ‘Tropical Cyclone Coverage’, is considered the market’s first typhoon parametric insurance. It provides an automatic benefit payout in the form of MOTOS points if a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 9 or above is issued for a specified period.
This means that instead of filing a claim, members receive the benefits automatically, which can be redeemed for various motor services and gifts through the MOTOGO platform.
This new solution has been launched just ahead of Typhoon Wipha’s arrival in Hong Kong, giving eligible MOTOGO members a way to manage disruptions more easily and with greater resilience

The second product is called MOTOGO Care – Guangdong and Macau Travel Insurance’, a new cross-boundary travel insurance which aims to enhance protection for car owners navigating increasingly volatile weather conditions and expanding regional travel.
It offers comprehensive protection for eligible customers traveling within the region, with its plan including medical coverage of up to HKD 300,000, along with benefits for travel delays, missed events, and journey curtailment.
This initiative aims to address a notable protection gap in the region, where insurance penetration remains relatively low despite increasing cross-border mobility.
